Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist possessing experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and epigenetics to join the research groups of Professor Skirmantas Kriaucionis and Professor Stefan Constantinescu at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research.

You will be responsible for designing and performing research work using E.coli , mammalian cell culture, primary clinical samples and in vitro experiments, and interpreting results and presenting them to in laboratory meetings. You will supervise and train junior staff and operate laboratory equipment used for all aspects of cell/molecular biology/chemistry. You will participate in and contribute directly to scientific discussions with other members of the research group and collaborators on the project and maintain accurate and up-to-date records in electronic lab notebook.

It is essential that you hold a PhD (or close to completion) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline, and have a background in chromatin function or haematological cancers. You will have knowledge of the standard laboratory techniques for molecular and cell biology, and biochemistry, and have first author publication(s) in internationally recognised journals. You will be highly organised, have excellent attention to detail and be able to work to work to meet tight deadline. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills, and have experience communicating results clearly and logically as part of a diverse research team.
