Job Description

Do you want to work on a cutting-edge research project to make billions of computing devices faster and more secure? Are you passionate about engaging in collaborative research at the intersection of code optimisation, formal verification and machine learning? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?

Applications are invited to apply for a Research Fellow to work on building secure and high-performance memory management systems. As a part of our team, you will have the unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects involving developing secure and high-performance memory management software libraries for emerging computer hardware.

Our research group is widely recognised for pioneering the application of machine learning in software development, which has significantly enhanced the performance and security of software libraries. This line of research has won multiple awards. Now, we are at the forefront of a burgeoning field and are expanding our expertise in machine learning-based code synthesis to create secure and high-performance memory libraries that leverage hardware security extensions.

The successful candidate will develop novel techniques that harness the power of machine learning to generate and optimise memory allocators while ensuring security guarantees.

Holding a PhD (or have submitted before taking up the role) in Computer Science or a closely allied discipline, you will have a particular interest in software engineering and low-level systems programming. Having working experience in machine learning and deep learning would be advantageous but not essential.
