Research Fellow in the Development of Human Gut Models

Job Description

You will have the opportunity to develop an existing human gut model that has been recently developed to add additional functionality around disease states. You will work with the MiGut team to engineer in new aspects to the model, for example introducing trace gases into the model, which will trigger a biological response from the microbiome population. This will allow us to better understand the microbiomes of patients with illnesses such Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Your work will support our wider goals around creating a realistic miniature in-vitro model that can be used to support microbiome studies. Part of your work will have you demonstrating the model capabilities to benchmark performance.

The team that you work with spans engineering skills (fluid mechanics, engineering design and control strategy) and microbiological techniques; we aim to create an environment teaming with diversity in which to thrive.
