YOUR TASKS

You will work part time (50%) in the frame of a fundamental research project (FWO-EOS “Artificial Lithographic Model for Corneal drug Screening”) where you will be responsible for the activities on sensor integration and microfluidics system design and technology development. More in detail you will develop technology to integrate TEER sensors in hydrogel printed materials. Additionally, you will be responsible for the calibration and integration of flow rate sensors in a microfluidic chip and you will develop an off-chip device to monitor cell viability in real-time where you will make use of PDMS molding and soft lithography.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You hold a thesis-based doctorate in the field of materials technology, chemistry, microsystems technology or another domain relevant for this application

You have experience in the design and production of microsystems, preferably polymer microsystems

You have experience in working in a clean room environment

You have experience in working in team in collaborative projects with external research partners

You have the talent for tackling and generating inventive solutions for practical problems

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

We offer you a contract of indefinite duration.

Your contract will start on 1/04/2022 at the earliest.

Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master's degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
