Description

We are seeking a self-motivated and committed Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Kusumbe lab.

This project aims to unravel the role of blood vessels and their endothelial cells during inflammation and metastasis.

You will be a member of a research group studying tissue and tumour microenvironments and will provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including PhD and project students. You will manage your own academic and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines as well, and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers.

You should have a PhD (or near completion) in molecular/cell biology or a related discipline, together with relevant practical experience. Sufficient specialist knowledge in vascular biology and immunology and ability to manage own academic research and associated activities are essential for this post. Willingness to work with the murine model systems and experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project would be desirable.

This is a full time appointment until 31 December 2023 with the possibility for extension.
