Postdoctoral Associate position is available for highly motivated candidates with a background in molecular biology/cell biology/protein biochemistry to join a research group interested in ongoing ocular research. The research project is to study phagocytosis in the eye by functional cloning strategy of phage display. Our ongoing research has identified several phagocytic ligands whose mutations cause retinal degeneration and blindness. The project is to further investigate their molecular mechanism for disease pathogenesis. Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has been ranked as the #1 eye hospital in the U.S. for the past four consecutive years. The candidate must have a Ph.D degree with ability to work independently after a short training. Prior experience in molecular biology, cell biology and protein biochemistry is preferred. Good English communication skills (both verbal and written) are required.
