At the Department of Bioinformatics (School of Biology and Pharmaceutics) at the Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, we are looking for a Postdoc or 2 PhD students in Bioinformatics, starting May 1, 2008 or shortly afterwards, to fit in a dynamic bioinformatics and systems biology team. The salary will be according to the German TV-L standard. Successful applicants are expected to do research and teaching in selected fields of bioinformatics and systems biology, such as modelling of metabolic networks, simulation of biological oscillations or alternative splicing.

The applicant should have a doctoral, diploma or M.Sc. degree in a discipline of Natural Sciences and be interested in mathematical modelling of biological networks. Programming skills (e.g. PERL) are desirable. Women are explicitly encouraged to apply.
